Extra-Terrestrial

**SPOILER ALERT**

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was a movie directed by Steven Spielberg (who, like, everyone has heard of), written by Melissa Mathison and released in June 1982.

E.T. is about an alien, E.T., who is accidentally left on Earth by other aliens. E.T. soon befriends a ten year-old boy Elliot, and his family. E.T. becomes sick, which i beliebe was because of his desperation to return home. Although E.T. loved the boy and his family, Earth was not his home. While hiding from the human task force that is eager to catch its first outer space visitor, E.T. also has to find a way to “phone home“.

The end of E.T. has to be one of the most heartbreaking ending of all time. If you did not cry when Elliot, then there is no doubt in my mind that you are heartless. Watching the above link alone is enough to make a person cry. The clip of E.T.’s goodbyes signify his love for the boy and his family but they also show is what, or need, to return to his own family.

E.T. is an amazing movie because in 1982 there weren’t any other movies around that had an lien come to Earth and befriend children. Speilberg and Mathison are creative geniuses. The movie is filled with action, science fiction, love, companionship, friendship, separation, and the list goes on and on.

E.T. is classic that will be remembered for centuries more to come. Its a movie to show people of all ages. I believe the message behind the movie is that friendship and companionship and love don’t have anything to do with who or what you are, or where you come from. These nouns dont discriminate and they dont judge. The message is that companionship and friendship and love can happen with anyone and that they are priceless and infinite.
